Minster of Tourism says Chinese tourism in Egypt has increased by 50%

Minister of Tourism Rania El-Mashat said on Thursday the Chinese market is one of the most promising tourism markets for Egypt, adding that the number of Chinese tourists coming to Egypt increased by 50 percent over the past period.

During an interview with Chinese CCTV channel, she hoped more Chinese tourists will come to Egypt, saying she is happy with the hospitality of the Egyptian delegation, which is currently taking part in the first China-Africa Trade Expo. She said Egyptian-Chinese relations are deeply-rooted and China's experiment in economic development is a model to be followed. The first China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo opened Thursday in Changsha, the capital of central China's Hunan Province. The three-day event has attracted more than 10,000 guests and traders, including those from 53 African countries, according to the organizing committee. Conferences, seminars, forums and exhibitions focusing on agriculture, trade, investment and infrastructure construction will be held during the expo, with experts sharing views on closer bilateral exchanges. The expo will feature exhibition areas covering more than 40,000 square meters, including national pavilions and display areas for enterprises that showcase the achievements and opportunities of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation. Launched under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, the expo establishes a new mechanism for economic and trade cooperation between China and African countries.
